Leeds and Grenville Interval House (LGIH) is seeking a Residential Manager to manage and build the programs and services of our 10 bed emergency shelter. LGIH is an emergency shelter and support service provider to abused women and their children. The Shelter houses women and children who have been abused physically, emotionally, psychologically and sexually. Women and children receive counselling and other support services to help them rebuild their lives.

The Residential Manager is responsible for the work and conduct of those staff assigned to LGIH shelter services and the development and implementation of shelter programs and services. The Residential Manager is responsible to the Executive Director and reports to her. The Residential Manager performs her duties and responsibilities within organizational policies, standards, procedures and practices.
Skills and Abilities:
• Thorough understanding of all issues of violence against women and sexual violence, including mental health, addictions and homelessness;
• Demonstrated working knowledge of community service partners, applicable legislation and policies, and best practices cross-sectorally with women and children.
• Sound supervision and support skills.
• Extensive experience in organizational capacity building and anti-oppression change work;
• Proven conflict resolution skills and mediation skills;
• Integrated team building and management skills;
• Program management, development, diversification and implementation skills;
• Excellent organizational skills;
• Strength in prioritizing and goal setting, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
• Comfortable in Microsoft Office; WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT. Internet proficiency.
• 3-5 years of direct supervisory/management experience;
• 3-5 years crisis counselling, case management and clinical supervision
• Experience in program development and evaluation, including the capacity to develop and monitor evaluation frameworks and employ the logic model in program delivery and evaluation;
• Experience managing human resources, budgets, and complex programs and projects
• Fluency in a second language a definite asset
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in a related field or equivalent working experience;
• 3-5 years direct experience with feminist, violence against women organizations.
• Proven, demonstrable ability in anti-oppression change work;
